The Brownstone | Haus der Musik is a venue for the study, performance and conservation of classical music. Prior to moving to New York from Germany, its founder – internationally renowned artist and pedagogue Dr. Emilio Pons - realized during his multiple travels to New York City that in spite of the city's reputation as a hub for international musicians there were simply no well-appointed private venues with a grand piano where visiting musicians could both lodge as well as study, rehearse and perform.
The Brownstone | Haus der Musik is the only private venue in Manhattan where individual musicians and even small chamber music groups can spend time studying, rehearsing and performing under one roof in a comfortable, spacious, immaculate, dignified, refined setting. The premises can also be used for a variety of other private events, including master classes, fundraising recitals, and lectures about music and the arts.
